The Alang-Sosiya Ship breaking Yard(ASSBY) along the coast of India had commenced its operation on 1983 and became one of the largest station of ship-breaking industry nowadays. It is perfect site for the industry due to the 17m tidal change per day and 25m/s wind force. However, the huge amount of workers at the yard are facing many problems, especially the terrible condition of temporary living. Most of them live in small, shanty dwellings without sufficient infrastructures and drinking water. Considering the process of ship breaking, their low incomes and many other aspects, there is a necessity of housings that can be easily manufactured and have its own infrastructure using specific environment of the site. The components of ships and the charateristics of the natural environments could be effectively utilized in the construction and existence of the newly proposed housings in the project.
